Google's Street View Now in Savannah
Posted by Rebecca
In my first "Buying a Foreclosure" post, I advised potential buyers to get out and drive the neighborhoods to get an idea of where they’d be willing to buy a home if a great deal were to arise. With gas prices what they are, this is easier said than done. A great way to start your search without spending a dime on gas is to use Google’s Street View.
It allows you not only to see a home you might be interested in, but surrounding homes and the entire neighborhood as well! It’s still a good idea to see the neighborhood in person, but at least you can eliminate or include some areas without ever getting in your car.
Here’s the street view of Wright Square in Downtown Savannah below. You can drag the screen to look up, down, left or right. Click on the arrows on the street to move along the street. Zoom in or out with the + and - in the upper left corner of the picture. Zoom way out to move quickly to a new neighborhood, then zoom back in. If you want to do your own search later on, justgo to maps.google.com, put in an address and click the "Street View" button.
