Ele Restaurant on Wilmington Island

Posted by Rebecca Sat, 16 Jan 2010 16:21:00 GMT

Rob is enamored with the squid salad at Ele, and I’m in love with their creme brulee, so we eat there frequently in spite of the fact that we rarely get out of there without spending over $100.

Each time we go, we say we’ll eat at the bar this time and just order salads and soups and call it a night, but as soon as we get inside, the modern glam atmosphere (emphasis on the glam) casts its spell on us, and we find ourselves sitting at a table, taking our time, drinking cocktails and eating tuna tartare and kobe beef rolls. Of course, we can’t end our evening without espressos and creme brulee, so that’s exactly what we do (or at least that’s what happened last night).

Ele is a new Asian-Fusion restaurant on Wilmington Island across from where William’s Seafood used to be.

What’s Great:

  • Good Wine and Cocktail List
  • Asian Fusion Flavor
  • Gorgeous Modern Glam Atmosphere
  • Free Valet Parking

What’s Not-So-Great:

  • Tables A Little Too Close
  • The Music Isn’t Worthy of the Atmosphere
  • Pricey

Our Take:

We LOVE this restaurant and recommend it to anyone who’s prepared to spend some money but wants great food and drinks and a glamorous atmosphere. You do sometimes feel like you’re on top of your neighbors, but we remedy this by bringing friends and taking up the surrounding tables. Enjoy!
